Artists are constantly exploring and responding to the environment around them.
Whether a global emergency, social, or personal issue,
they are led to respond in a creative way.
The heart of an artist must respond.
They are the recorders,
the ones who work things out in the physical,
exploring thoughts and emotion.

My art expresses an immediate response to a situation, a visual prayer.
Painting mainly in acrylic, my images often reflect a Christian perspective.
My passion is children and I have been led to paint many newborn paintings. These have become my nativity paintings, where the birth story of the individual child,
the beginning of their life path and that of the mother is the theme.
My heart is broken by the poverty, addiction and abuse that some women face.
Many of these images are birthed in prayer for the mother and child.

Each child and their birth situation is unique and sacred. 

I try to capture the intimate bonding time between mother and child.
Sometimes this reflects a time of great joy
and yet others are silent with the weight of the decisions that must be made.
